COMMISSIONS

Artwork commissioned by Cambridge University Botanic Garden, Cambridge, UK.

For the last few years I have been producing illustrations for the Botanic Garden’s educational displays aimed at the public. The image below was used for their 2022 summer exhibition.

This artwork was produced for the fascinating Plamatsu exhibition held at the University of Cambridge Botanic Garden. The exhibition was about how plant surface properties are the inspiration for the innovation and production of novel materials which could potentially change our lives in a positive way. This illustration is a digital collâge of electron microscope images of plant surfaces overlayed with a montage of the plants studied. The actual artwork is 1.9 metres by 1.7metres and was used as main illustration at the entrance to the exhibition.

Fenland Interprative Boards at Cambridge University Botanic Garden

The boards are placed around the garden to enable visitors to better understand the specialised features of plants in that area.
