Artwork commissioned by Cambridge University Botanic Garden, Cambridge, UK.
This artwork was produced for the fascinating Plamatsu exhibition held last year at the University of Cambridge Botanic Garden. The exhibition was about how plant surface properties are the inspiration for the innovation and production of novel materials which could potentially change our lives in a positive way. This illustration is a digital collâge of electron microscope images of plant surfaces overlayed with a montage of the plants studied. The actual artwork is 1.9 metres by 1.7metres and was used as main illustration at the entrance to the exhibition.
